Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 June 2026

Zippy ("we", "us", "our") operates a premium rideshare service in Perth and across Western Australia. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. Information we collect

  • Booking details: name, email, phone, pickup and drop-off addresses, date, time, passenger count and trip notes.
  • Account information: if you sign in, your email and authentication identifiers.
  • Trip data: service type, estimated and final fare, driver assignment, and trip status.
  • Technical data: device, browser, IP address and basic analytics when you use the site.

2. How we use your information

  • To confirm, dispatch and complete your ride.
  • To send transactional emails (booking confirmation, driver assignment, receipts).
  • To respond to your enquiries and provide customer support.
  • To improve service quality, safety and route efficiency.
  • To comply with legal obligations in Western Australia.

3. Disclosure to third parties

We share the minimum information required with: (a) the assigned driver to complete your ride; (b) Google Maps for address autocomplete and routing; (c) our email infrastructure provider to deliver transactional emails from notify.zippywa.com; and (d) authorities when required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Payment

Zippy does not process online payments. Fares are paid directly to the driver on arrival (cash, card or transfer). We do not store payment card details.

5. Data retention

Booking records are retained for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes and comply with tax and transport regulations in Western Australia (typically 7 years for financial records). You may request deletion of your account at any time.

6. Your rights

Under the APPs you may request access to or correction of your personal information, withdraw consent for marketing communications, or lodge a complaint. Contact us at info@zippywa.com. Unresolved complaints may be referred to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

7. Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and minimal analytics to understand site usage. You can disable cookies in your browser; some features may not work as a result.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted transport, role-based access, row-level security on our database) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified by email or on this page.
